Embroidered name on faux leather golf bag

I have been asked to embroider a name on a logos soft faux leather golf bag and need advice on the type of needle to use. I have a !6 needle Melco Bravo machine. I’ve read some posts that say use a sharp leather needle but others have said don’t use a leather needle. Obviously can’t make a mistake.
